RANDOM RANT #2

Hello All!! I know I know, I have been missing for almost a week. Gosh, that feels like a million years away from the blogosphere. I was down with a very bad flu, fever and cough which I am still recovering from as I am writing this post. As you all know, I have been madly in love with pink and had crazy pink hair that faded and had to re-dye it on my own . And so, I just wanted to show you that having pink can be inexpensive and easy to maintain on your own but of coz I’d recommend to get it professionally done first and subsequently maintain it on your own till you need the professionals to get the ombre effect again.

Yes, this is what my super pink hair faded into, not so awesome right?

If you haven’t already read my awesome post on my very first pink ombre hair, please click here. It was done at a hair salon.

And so, my hair was looking crap, I decided to get fuchsia hair dye and touch up the bottom to get its vibrant pink again and the results were effing amazing!

After rinsing off the hair dye, I was like “OMG”! How awesome the pink turned out!

Lighting was a bit dim here

Yes, it is that bright and super pink. Any color seen was not edited. The only thing done to the picture was to include tiny lil twopinkcheeks logo. Photo taken under white lights

Please take note that I am not a professional hairstylist. Just a regular female who bought hair dye and attempted this at home and turned out the way I wanted it to be. If you’re wondering how I did this, please feel free to ask! I’d be more than happy to share this awesome inexpensive way of maintaining the pink dip dye/ ombre look. I think I did this for approx. 1/6 of the price that is usually charged at the hair salon. I even did a hair treatment just so my hair wouldn’t be so damage. All at the comfort of my own home. How awesome is that?!? Till then, Toodles!

  1. hello twopinkcheeks,

i was just googling about ombre hair and came across you blog. May i know where did u purchase that shocking pink semi dye? I am looking high and low for it and also tried coloring in hair salon but somehow the results isn’t really satisfying.Such an amazing skill you have there, your ombre look very natural *thumb up*

    1. Hey! I bought this tube from some random hair supplies shop in sungai wang, kuala lumpur but unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the shop.

Please take note that I did an ombre hair and bleached my hair prior to this by a professional, and because of that the pink dye was easily absorbed and resulted in a shocking pink effect. If you are going to search for it, get the pink tube of hair dye that is already mixed and ready to apply on your hair. I left mine on for approx. 40 mins. Do not get the pink bleach powder coz’ that’s just gonna ruined your hair. Best to get it bleached at the salon first. All I did was touch up the pink color from previous. I hope you are able to find the pink dye! Best of luck!

    1. Hello Wan Ting! It’s very simple. I bought pre-mixed hair dye that is ready to be applied onto the hair itself. I bought my hair dye from some random shop in Sungai Wang, Kuala Lumpur. Please click http://twopinkcheeks.wordpress.com/2012/08/30/cosmetics-beauty-haul-various/, you will be able to see a picture of the hair dye I bought. All you need is an old comb, gloves and an old shirt/ the plastic protector barbers put on you when you cut your hair. I took the hair dye and rub it into my bleached hair area in small sections and using a comb to ensure the hair dye is on every strand of my hair. Waited 20-35 minutes, rinsed off and apply hair mask/ treatment and that’s the result I got. Hope this helps you. Good luck and do share a picture of yours!
