Helloooooooo muh’ lovelies! Finally, my computer’s fixed and I’m somehow feeling sane again. Felt so lost without my computer; not being able to work, write reviews and/or pen down tutorials. There are tons of em’ (product reviews & tutorials) lining up I tell ya. Let’s just hope my computer doesn’t do that to me again. Or should I just invest in a better and bigger computer?
Oh well enough of the ramblings, here’s another review for your reading pleasure; the all new limited edition Sleek Cosmetics I Divine PPQ Shangri-La Respect Palette. A collaboration between Sleek and fashion house PPQ; colors are inspired by PPQ’s S/S 2013 collection. This palette is available for purchase on its own or it comes together in a set with a Truely Mattely Deeply lip gloss in the color Jazz.
Product & Packaging
The outer packaging with some dirt/stain
Why is the packaging looking like this? Received it with little bit of dirt/stain on the packaging which I’m not too happy about. I like to keep all outer box packaging of limited edition products so I’d prefer a nice, new and clean box. However, as I opened the packaging, the actual product wow-ed me. It’s a nice sleek black packaging with a measurement of approx. 7.2cm x 13.9cm.
Perfect for traveling due to its compact size, light weight with a mirror included. It’s compact enough to carry in your purse for any touch up in between. Palette opens easily. A sponge tip applicator is provided which I usually keep for application of glitter. Sponge tip applicators are not much of a help when applying eyeshadows. I only use my trustworthy Sigma brushes for make up application. Contains 12 colors; a mixture of matte and frosty/shimmery colors, both neutral, dark and bright colors. Perfect for fall/winter and/or for countries who only have summer all year round (like KL, Malaysia) perfect for day and night. There are 8 matte shadows (awesome!) and 4 frosted/shimmery shadows. Each eyeshadow weighs 1.1gram/ 0.03 oz. which is enough to last you a few years.
The protective sheet with the eyeshadow names
The only thing about this palette are the names of the eyeshadow. The names are stated on the protective sheet which in most cases I usually throw it away so that I don’t waste my time putting the protective sheet aside and back when I am done using the palette. So, for this palette I guess I’m gonna have to keep the sheet or find the time to label it myself somewhere on the palette. I’m pretty sure that at some point I’m gonna lose the sheet even before I label it.
Okay, quality is not as expected. I’ve read many great reviews on their eyeshadow palettes but I most certainly did not experience the pigmentation everyone’s raving about. It is pigmented alright but I was expecting better. Perhaps, it is a limited edition palette where it slightly differs from the usual range. A mineral based eyeshadow that is averagely pigmented I’d say! When swatched, the color payoff seen on the finger without any base was so-so. Wasn’t chalky or anything like that when applied onto the eyes. Application and blendability wise is alright with little fall out. Best to use with an eyeshadow base as you can see the difference below with and without a base. Lasted me throughout my normal workday; staying power is good.
Designed and developed in the UK, produced in China. As far as I’m concern, the ingredient list does not seem to contain any harsh ingredients. I did not experience any allergic reactions when using the palette.
with NYX primer as a base
My fav. colors are James Brown, Vandellas, Shalamar, Motown Mink, Ojays and New Jack Pink.

Overall, I don’t dislike this palette and I’m not crazy about it either. I’m still wanting to try the other palettes so I’m gonna put em’ on my wishlist for now since I’ve got too many palettes to play at da mo’. Please note that these are just opinions of my own, so don’t let this stop you from trying out their products. Till then, Toodles!
